Leah Stecher is the critically acclaimed author of The Things We Miss (Bloomsbury, May 2024) which was an ALSC Notable Children's Book and a 2024 Shelf Awareness Best Book of the Year and A Field Guide to Broken Promises (Bloomsbury, May 2025). She was born and raised in Southern California and currently lives in coastal Maine. By day, she edits policy papers for an environmental nonprofit; by night, she writes middle grade fiction. She has strong opinions on tea blends, chocolate chip cookie recipes, and action movies.
